Abstract

Pelabuhan Jangkar is one of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit ( UPTD ) of Transport Communication Regional Situbondo as government agencies that provide public service to the community . The existence of Pelabuhan Jangkar has a very important role in supporting economic activity and distribution of development in Situbondo because water transportation is one mode of transport that connects Java and Madura Island . Productivity freight traffic that serve this Kalianget port towards the decline of both passenger and freight transport , the shipping company serving crossing Jangkar - Kalianget decline the average income of the ship is equal to 16.6 % .Based on the results of transport demand forecasting , BEP(break even point) load factor is equal to 64.21 % achieved in 2011 . In 2012 while the next transport companies suffered losses in terms of operating income due to productivity freight ships are increasingly in decline . It is known that in 2012 the shipping company suffered losses which found that large vessel operating expenses exceed the revenue of the ship ( BOK > revenue ) that vessel operating expenses amounting to Rp. 2,977,643,505,- and the vessel revenue of Rp. 2709255500,-By considering the rate of revenue decline in 2012 , it is necessary to subsidize the ferry transport sustainability framework that ferry transport activities on cross Jangkar - Kalianget - Sapudi Island which is still running on the track still has the potential transport demand is still needed surrounding communities .
